Self-Taught IT Technician & Cybersecurity Professional
I didn't go to university for IT or cybersecurity. Everything I know, I learned by doing. Late nights at the command line, breaking things on purpose just to figure out how to fix them, reading docs until my eyes hurt. That's how I got here.
The problem? Most learning resources are either too theoretical or locked behind paywalls. You watch videos, read articles, but you don't really get it until your hands are on the keyboard. That disconnect frustrated me for years.
So I built ArchonVLabs. Not because I'm some expert who's mastered everything, but because I know what it's like to struggle through man pages at 2 AM trying to understand why a command isn't working. I wanted to create the resource I wish I had when I started.
ArchonVLabs is built on one simple idea: you learn IT by actually doing IT. Not watching someone else do it. Not reading about it. By typing commands, seeing what breaks, and figuring out why.
Every simulator on this site is designed to let you practice real commands in a safe environment. Make mistakes. Try different flags. See what happens. That's how muscle memory builds, and that's how concepts actually stick.
And it's completely free. No premium tiers, no locked content, no "upgrade to see more." Just pure, hands-on learning for anyone willing to put in the work.
Right now, we've got networking, security, and system administration commands covered. But this is just the beginning. I'm constantly adding more commands, more scenarios, more tools to help you level up.
My goal? To make this the go-to place for anyone trying to break into IT or sharpen their skills. Whether you're prepping for CompTIA certs, studying for a job interview, or just curious about how networks actually work, I want this site to be useful for you.
Got feedback? Found a bug? Want to suggest a command or feature? I'd love to hear from you. This site gets better when people actually use it and tell me what's working (or what isn't).
